Ben Mulder strongly believes in continuous personal and professional development, a principle he also applies in his role as a Machinery and Business Inventory Valuer. He emphasises that integrity, good listening skills and continuing education are essential for a valuer. Since 2010, he has seen the profession change significantly, particularly due to the increasing role of digital support, which allows valuations to be carried out faster, more efficiently and more accurately.

His career began in 1985 in industry at a machine factory for large textile machines, where he gained six years of practical experience. He then spent seven years as a product specialist for the Japanese company AMADA and, from around 1990, worked as a representative for various manufacturers in the sheet metal working and robotisation sector, such as SAFAN (NL), Antil (IT) and Ermaksan (TR). In 2010, Ben made the switch to TBAuctions, where he started as an appraiser and was able to fully utilise his technical background.

He now focuses on appraising business inventories and related assets. He advises banks, receivers, leasing companies and businesses on acquisitions, sales processes and bankruptcies. As a registered broker-appraiser and advisor (member of TMV), he is involved in valuations in sectors such as metal and woodworking, agriculture, crane and heavy transport, and civil engineering. At TWA, appraisals are often carried out individually on location, but the final valuation is.

In addition to his work as a registered valuer and auctioneer, Ben plays an important role in the development of the TWA valuation system in FileMaker. Whereas in 2010 they were still working with pen, paper and camera, the team now uses its own recording app on a tablet. He is currently working on the next step: integrating data-driven techniques with benchmarking, reference databases and artificial intelligence. This modern system makes the valuation process faster and more reliable, while further improving quality.

Thanks to his many years of experience as an insolvency specialist, Ben is regularly involved in optimising the value of assets in complex business processes. His work takes place at various locations in the Netherlands and abroad, including Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Spain and Turkey. To date, he has carried out more than 2,100 valuations of companies and installations and is regularly called upon by the Tax and Customs Administration and other government agencies for additional support.
At TWA, Ben experiences new challenges and opportunities every day to further develop his knowledge and skills, enabling him to provide his clients with the best possible advice and support.
